Yuan Jin

Lead Architect, Multi-Architecture
Principal Architect of MultiArchitecture. Assistant Professor, SCUT Yuan Jin received his Bachelor of Architecture at South China University of Technology, followed by a Master of Architecture at Rice University in the United States. His graduate thesis work Through Thick and Thin won the Darden Award at Rice University and was later awarded the Hunter Douglas Award at the 2017 Archiprix Design Awards in India. In 2016, Jin was selected by Rice University's School of Architecture to join the TauSigma Delta, the American Society for Architectural and Integrative Arts honors. Yuan Jin practiced in architecture at Guangzhou, Beijing, Houston, Paris, and New York from 2012 to 2017. He served as associate architect of Caza Architects in New York. In 2017, Yuan Jin founded the MULTI-ARCHITECTURE Studio in Guangzhou, where he serves as principal architect till today. In 2017, Jin Yuan has been interviewed by Youfang with the topic called Jin Yuan: The word "thickness" almost killed me and made me reborn. In 2020, two of his works, Window and Net, were selected into the Space Discipline-- an exhibition of 10 contemporary young architects by OCAT Art Museum in Shanghai. In 2020, his practical work Dust in the Sun - House of Mul and COLMO was awarded the AD100YOUNG of AD Magazine. In 2022, Huangchong Market design project was awarded the Best Public Building Award of Wallpaper Design Award of Volume 2022. Other works and projects which are under construction have also been reported by mainstream professional media such as Archdaily, Gooood, Guangzhou Daily, Nanfang+, etcetera. In 2021, Yuan Jin was employed as a design instructor in The Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. He is now the design instructor and assistant professor of the School of Architecture of South China University of Technology.
