Stewart Haotian Wu
Partner, Practice on Earth
Stewart Haotian Wu, Partner of Practice on Earth and holds a Master of Architecture degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2023, he co-founded Practice on Earth with Cloe Yun Wang, responding through built work to contemporary issues of spatial renewal and cultural reproduction in China. From 2018 to 2019, he taught at the Melbourne School of Design.
Practice on Earth focuses on the interplay between cultural situatedness and technological experimentation, approaching architecture as a process of sustained collaboration among multiple stakeholders within complex real-world conditions. It has received recognition in culturally driven design competitions, including the Gold Prize in the Moganshan Core Scenic Area International Planning Competition and First Prize in the Doumen Old Town International Design Competition in Shaoxing. Its built works have also been honored by major international platforms, such as Wallpaper* China’s Emerging Designers of the Year and the Dezeen Awards’ Best Design of the Year.
