Qiong Er Jiang
Founder, Artistic Director and CEO of SHANG XIA
Ms. Jiang Qiong Er is a contemporary designer infusing the subtlety, beauty and heritage of Chinese culture into innovative modern design. She Born into a family of artist-creators in Shanghai, her farther Xing Tong He, the famous architect in China who is the main designer of Shanghai Museum. Upon graduating with a degree in Art & Design, she attended the Decorative Arts School in Paristo further her studies in furniture and interior design. Her experience in France completely changed her life, brought her international vision and open mind, along with her multi-cultural background, naturally allow her to create and express while preserving and respecting both eastern and western tradition. After returning from France, Ms. Jiang experimented with many techniques and found that both her Asian and French cultural backgrounds served as an eternal source of inspiration. As the creative director of Hermès window display in China, Ms. Jiang began to collaborate with art director Pierre Alexis-Dumas and CEO Patrick Thomas of Hermès International to create a new Chinese luxury brand, SHANG XIA. In 2009, she established the contemporary lifestyle brand SHANG XIA, and took the positions of artistic director and CEO. Jiang and SHANG XIA are dedicated to bringing fine Chinese crafts to the world, infuse traditional crafts with contemporary design, weaving concepts from East and West to create a 21st century lifestyle. In 2011, Jiang was named as Forbes 25 Most Influential Chinese in Global Fashion and Lifestyle. In 2013, she was honored “Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres” of the French Republic in recognition of her contribution to cultural exchange between China and France. In 2014, Jiang was honored as Cinquantenaire des Relations Franco-Chinoises “50 Ans 50 Personnes”. And in 2016, she was then honored by French Government as “Chevalier de L’Ordre National duMérite” in Shanghai.
