Omae Eri
Born in Shanghai, China, with expertise in color, material and craft research, a member of the Chinese Writers Association. Previously led brand development and product CMF design for multinational brands in USA and Japan, she works as Color creative director of DIC Color Design, Inc., of global leading company, DIC Group, participating in trend forecasting and CMF design for Asian markets. Her “Global Design Trend Seminar” since 2010 is one of Japan's most popular CMF design trend lectures. In 2008, she founded and served as Editor-in-Chief of the “Asia Color Trend Book”. Over 18 years, she has visited thousands of Asian brands, artists, and artisans, analyzing and forecasting trends in art, crafts, design, color, and materials across Asia. This publication serves as a reference for interpreting Asian aesthetic consciousness and is collected by renowned brand design centers, universities, art museums, and libraries globally across architecture, automotive, home appliances, food, cosmetics, and other sectors. She serves as a “City Color Consultant” for Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and hosts the “Asian Life and Design Platform.”, Director and Color & Craft Advisor for Shanghai's Jinze Arts Centre. In 2024, as curator, founded the Design Shanghai Japan Pavilion “Beyond Craft”.
