Katherine is a Landscape Studio Director of RIOS in Los Angeles. She has worked on a range of projects in the public realm from public parks, cultural institutions to master planning. From the scale of the neighborhood to large scale master plans, Kate leads the team through strategic thinking to the materialization of the project. At all scales, Kate’s interests lie in the resolution of the ecological and tectonic aspects of landscape as a medium, and in exploring how the performative aspects of landscape create enriching experiences. She recently led the effort for the Descanso Gardens Master Plan and is leading the team at One Beverly Hills to develop a new botanical garden and luxurious urban park. Kate received her MLA from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a lecturer and studio instructor at the University of Southern California and her work has been published and exhibited nationally.
