John Pearson

Senior Project Designer, RIOS
United States
As a Senior Project Designer at RIOS, John Lambert Pearson is skilled at working with clients and stakeholders to realize their vision for a site. With over 12 years of experience seeing projects from schematic design through construction observation, he brings his interest in the social and cultural factors of design, as well as extensive horticultural expertise, to every project. Born and raised in Los Angeles, John takes special interest in projects that enhance the urban landscape experience for the residents of Southern California. His range of work includes multi-use residential developments, large and small urban open spaces and parks, corporate and university campuses, master planning for green streets and transit corridors, and community-led design processes. John regularly mentors others within the field by volunteering his time for portfolio reviews at USC and ASLA Emerging Professionals programs. He received his B.A. in Landscape Architecture from University of California, Berkeley, and earned an ASLA Certificate of Honor. John has practiced planning and landscape architecture across Southern California and New York, and projects include the National 9/11 Memorial, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park Dog Run, and Transbay Transit Center. Internationally he has worked on Marina Bay Sands in Singapore and Barangaroo in Australia.
