Triomphe Floorlamp by Hongchao Wang

(Global Debut) The gathering of literati, often referred to as Yaji (雅集) is an outdoor celebrating event where intellectuals appreciate art, enjoy tea, and compose poetry. In traditional Chinese culture, the concept of time is best reflected by the interplay between sunshine and moonlight. We would like to use light to capture the fleeting joy of such winter gathering through a series of optical installations. We gain inspirations from Qiu Ying, one of the Four Painting Masters of Ming to showcase a diverse range of Yaji activities.
