Glacies by Aylin Eclair

(2023 Global Debut) Glacies is the Latin word for Glacier. “Glacies” reflects the beauty of our planet’s huge glaciers, reserving 69% of our freshwater. 22% of the glaciers has melted since 1994, and the fact that the beautiful ice blocks one day might fully melt away truly pains me. The main reason why I decided to paint what still remains of the glaciers is to remember a big part of our nature that one day might vanish. Apart from its importance for our nature it possesses an incredible beauty that deserves being remembered forever. The details on this piece is endless and can't get passed unnoticed.
