The "Weary Bird as a Vessel" is a handcrafted ceramic studio located within the Red Line Protection Area of the World Heritage Site of the Liangzhu Ancient City in Hangzhou. Established eight years ago, it specializes in hand-pinched and hand-painted pottery vessels in the distinctive black, gray, and red tones unique to Liangzhu culture. The craftsmanship and presentation of these works strikingly resemble "excavated artifacts," representing a fusion of cultural element extraction from relics and modern practical adaptation, resulting in everyday objects.
The decorative patterns and vessel forms of the works draw inspiration from 5,000-year-old Liangzhu cultural relics. Through secondary creation or refined replication, they extract the simple and beautiful aspirations of the original sacrificial culture. The pieces exude a bold, rugged, and primitive totemic quality.
