Founded in 1927 in Cantù, the heart of the district international furniture industry, TABU is the acronym of the Tagliabue family name.
Precisely in 1927 the founder Achille Tagliabue had an idea that would revolutionized the furniture industry and the manufacturing techniques known until then: apply the dyeing technique to the wood in the thickness of the wood fiber veneer, so as to make its color uniform and above all infinitely repeatable. By developing this innovative process it was possible to apply to woodworking an industrial approach, which has allowed us to do evolve and consolidate the entire furniture production, thanks to replicability of a qualitatively higher yield compared to coloring non-homogeneous surface which is performed with other methods.
The Subsequent generations of the Tagliabue family have carried on the family tradition, continuing to improve and perfect the technique-dyeing; today, with the third generation at the helm, TABU is a world leader in wood dyeing and operates in over 60 countries on all continents.
