Recognised for his ‘molecular objects’, Abid Javed has developed an identity by sharing his insights from the unseen world we live in, re-imagined as abstract, biomorphic forms. The research scientist and sculptor takes the scientific observations under the microscopic lens of molecules and cellular landscapes and reimagines them as sculptural bodies in his studio practice. Objets Mito invites viewers to experience an alien landscape of mitochondrial biology, realised as sculptural design objects, using clay as a primary material, in combination with other materials like Washi paper.
