During the last three decades, Norwegian Scenic Routes has developed 18 alternative routes in Norwegian landscapes. Stretches along the coast, through the fjords, up along valleys to the mountains, and out onto the peninsulas into the Artic Ocean. The project is unique in its extensive use of architects, landscape architects and artists, who provide travelers with nature experiences, and the privilege to rest; immense oneself in a landscape to admire the view, and to reflect.
The exhibition gives insights to architecture and design in the landscapes of Norwegian Scenic Routes. Films present varied landscape types in which the routes wind, with artistic and architectural interpretations at different sites. A set of dilemmas related to climate change and sustainability, use and consumption of Norwegian nature is raised.
