Artist: Nonaka Rintaro
Inspired by the Part de Verre technique, he innovatively combines clay and molds, carving the exterior to give each piece a unique texture.
Building upon the "umehana-gawa" (plum-skin glaze) technique, he creatively uses feldspar glaze to paint undulating textures on the surface, immersing viewers in a world of exquisite tactility.
His works are often intentionally uneven; within their peaks and valleys lie his profound emotions—anger, sorrow, joy—much like the undulating waves of life.
About the Series:
Tube Series: Achieves a pearly translucency through the application of glaze dots.
Stone Series: Utilizes natural minerals that, after firing, reveal a gemstone-like sheen.
