Ogawa Washi has a history of 1,300 years. Ogawa is the closest washi production area to Edo (now Tokyo) and flourished with thousands of papermaking workshops. KUBO PAPER FACTORY was established in 1913. Shotaro Kubo, the third-generation owner, has been recognized not only as a skilled craftsman but also as a Chidori painting artist. In recent years, the number of farmers cultivating kozo—the raw material for washi—has declined dramatically due to the abundance of cheap washi paper in circulation, making it difficult to pass on the craft. Kubo Isetaro, the fifth generation, has worked to improve both the raw materials and techniques while preserving tradition. His products feature a wide variety of colors and patterns, including traditional Japanese greens and browns.
小川和紙は1300年の歴史があります。埼玉県小川町は江戸（現在の東京）に最も近い和紙の産地であり、かつては数千もの製紙工房が軒を連ねて栄えました。KUBO PAPER FACTORY（久保製紙所）は1913年に創業されました。三代目の久保正太郎氏は、優れた職人であるだけでなく、「千鳥模様」の絵師としても知られています。 近年では、安価な和紙が流通するようになった影響で、和紙の原料である楮（こうぞ）を栽培する農家が激減し、伝統技術の継承が困難になっています。五代目の久保伊勢太郎氏は、伝統を守りつつ、原材料と技術の両面で改良を重ねてきました。彼の製品は、伝統的な日本の緑や茶色をはじめとする、多彩な色合いや柄が特徴です。
