As an artist from Yunnan, Hu Yuehua's creation has always explored around "locality", deeply rooted in the soil of ethnic culture and traditional crafts. She is good at using installation art as a language to carry out expressive practices in specific spatial fields. The core of her works lies in integrating natural elements with traditional handicrafts and deeply exploring the rich connotation of Oriental aesthetics. Her series of creations and exhibitions take national traditional fabrics, fabric fibers, plants and other composite materials as the medium, skillfully combining intangible cultural heritage crafts with contemporary visual expression, and translating the contemporary beauty of Oriental culture. Hu Yuehua's creation not only inherits the essence of traditional intangible cultural heritage crafts, but also endows them with new vitality and forms of expression. Her works have a flowing life form, exploring the coexistence and connection between nature and humans. From the totem culture of the Yi nationality to the terraced landscape of Yunnan, from the culture of Qiandongnan, Guizhou, Guizhou to the regional interpretation of Tibetan culture, her works deeply integrate nature and humanity, tradition and modernity through the integration of local materials and forms, showing the state of different local cultures taking root, growing and interacting with the outside world in their unique ecosystems.
