A kumihimo shop located in Ikenohata, Ueno. Founded in 1652. During the Edo period, the company mainly handled sword straps and handle threads as a thread merchant, and since the Meiji period, it has mainly produced obi-jime and haori-himo. Since its founding, the company has been producing a variety of kumihimo. All products are hand-dyed and hand-woven by its own craftsmen. For over 370 years since its founding, the company has maintained traditional techniques. In addition, the company has conducted research and studies on historical kumihimo that have been passed down throughout Japan, including the Shosoin Repository, and has been involved in the restoration and reproduction of these kumihimo, and holds a wide range of materials and techniques related to kumihimo.
東京の上野池之端に店をかまえる組紐処。1652年創業。江戸期には糸商として刀の下緒、柄糸などを主に取扱い、明治期以降は帯締、羽織紐を主として、創業以来様々な組紐の製作を行ってきました。製品は全て自社の職人による手染、手組です。創業以来370 年以上にわたって伝統的な技法を守ってまいりました。また、正倉院をはじめ日本各地に伝わる歴史的組紐の調査研究、および復元模造を手がけ、組紐に関する広範な資料と貴重な技術を保持しています。
