Since the late 1980s, Davide Groppi has been creating and producing lamps. Simplicity, weightlessness, emotion, creative invention and amazement are the five fundamental components of each lamp or lighting project. Over time, creative and entrepreneurial independence have allowed him to develop his own brand of original and unique products, currently distributed the world over. The company has worked on countless projects involving houses, boutiques, museums and the world of hospitality: some of the world’s top restaurants have chosen lighting solutions by Davide Groppi. The excellence of his work has been recognized by numerous publications and prestigious awards such as, among others, the double ADI Compasso d’Oro for the Nulla and Sampei lamps in 2014 and, in 2016, the ADI Compasso d’Oro Mention of Honour for the Tetatet lamp. In March 2018, IDB acquired the majority of Davide Groppi Srl. The entrepreneur remains CEO and holds a relevant stake in the company, with the goal to promote its growth combining it with the brand’s strong identity. Paolo Pagani, investor in the lighting industry, also took part in the deal.
