As a special unit of the Shanghe: Spring Revival dedicated to women, “méng niè-Sprouting” captures the “upward movement,” allowing the audience to see the dual projection of the female body and spirit. Through spatially designed “lifting structures,” the artworks seem to “sprout” forth from the earth, stones, and plants. Participating artists include Nina K Ekman, Long Pan, Wu Ji, and Zhou Yiqiao, with works spanning weaving, video, ceramics, sculpture, and more.
