"One Meter to the Horizon"Art Exhibition
Date:2026.03.05-04.05 10:00-20:00
Address: STUDIO 9, No.55 Yuyao Road, Jing’an District
One meter is the everyday within reach, and the horizon just a step away. The artist Shuaire Shizhu asserts that true art does not reside in inaccessible halls, but in the profound care for—and rediscovery of—the “nearby”. Taking “one meter”—the most tangible measure of the human body—as its radius, this exhibition proposes a new perspective: adjust the focal length of observation, and bring the distant back to your side. It measures the gap between the individual and the city, between the self and nature. With every pause, it perceives the breath of the mountains and the traces of the horizon. All that lies hidden in the folds of the city is rendered visible, brought to light as painting.
The artist takes the body as a ruler to call for the deepest perception from the closest distance. The works in this exhibition are divided into two parts: The first part consists of urban signals captured by Shizhu during his in-depth exploration of Shanghai in the past six months; The second part features natural creations from his previous sketching trips in the Daliang Mountains.
