The special city tour event “Architectural Huangpu” is presented by Design Shanghai, featuring City Ambassador of Huangpu district Roger Qian as guide. The Bund Classic Line takes you from Waitanyuan No.1 through the former Royal Asiatic Society Building, HSBC Building, The Custom House, Bank of China Building to the Peace Hotel. Showcasing Neoclassical, Art Deco, and Sino-Western fusion styles, it captures the essence of the Exotic building clusters. Beyond architecture, the guide will share stories of Shanghai’s past and present, bringing history to life along the Bund. Route Overview: Waitanyuan No.1 (starting point; Shanghai’s earliest Western-style consulate building) → Royal Asiatic Society Building (now Rockbund Art Museum; one of China’s earliest museums) → HSBC Building (home to the Bund’s most iconic dome) → The Custom House (featuring the “No.1 Clock in Asia”) → Bank of China Building (the only Bund skyscraper led by a Chinese architect) → Peace Hotel (“No.1 Building in the Far East”)
