TALENTS originates from Design Shanghai, curated by designer Frank Chou, and was first launched in 2020. In order to better help young designers grow and gradually improve the design ecology in China, TALENTS focuses on the localization of Chinese design, upholds the brand value of people-oriented design, focuses on people through design, discovers potential young designers, and gives them professional career guidance.
Confront Conflicts
"Design Shanghai TALENTS" was initiated by "Design Shanghai" in 2020, established based on its background and resources, and curated by renowned designer Frank Chou. This important exhibition focused on young design talent. Since entering the 2020s, the world has increasingly been swept up by change and uncertainty. Whether in the fields of economy, politics, technology, or culture, these profound transformations are not only shaping our era but also accelerating the complexity and impact of various conflicts. The theme of the fifth edition of "Design Shanghai TALENTS" is "Confronting Conflict," raising an important question for all creators to ponder: In a future world where conflicts are becoming more intense and frequent, how will we, as designers, respond with the right mindset and actions? The 25 TALENTS exhibitors will present their works as answers, inviting the audience to reflect together. The powerful TALENTS jury panel will also continue to engage with designers on-site, sharing and discussing this topic.
