"Small Flower, Wild Beauty" is an experiential installation designed to showcase the wildflowers of the Yangtze River Delta area. The flower pavilions are voluminous color sculptures made out of transparent fabric, conveying the delicate and soft nature of flower petals, which are wrapped in layers. The Pavilion invites viewers to enter its interior and immerse themselves in the appreciation of beautiful images of native wildflowers. In collaboration with ecologists, we created pressed flower specimens. Three-dimensional flowers were flattened, dried, and photographed using light to produce colorful X-ray-like images. The overlapping colors and varying transparency create a sense of depth and volume, akin to architectural blueprints, showcasing rich three-dimensional information on a flat surface.
