Design Shanghai 2018: The Best Design Brands And Galleries Gather Together !

The number of exhibitors at Design Shanghai 2018, as well as the quality of their work, were once again very impressive. There were over 1,000 product launches dedicated to the Asian market, reinforcing the strength of the show. Among the 400 participating brands and galleries were renowned exhibitors such as Carl Hansen & Son, Zaha Hadid Design, Kelly Hoppen Interiors, Lasvit, Swarovski, Lalique, Ligne Roset, Roche Bobois, Preciosa, Villari, Martinelli Luce, Baxter, Freifrau & Janua, Ceccotti, Promemoria, Oluce, Ingo Maurer, Gallery All, Stellar Works, Studio Italia Design, Fermob, Sans Souci, Qeeboo, Interni Edition, MisuraEmme, Medea Lifestyle1905, Serip, Caesarstone, Dyson, Liebherr, Leicht, Miele, Roca, Jacob Delafon, Sub-Zero & Wolf, Royal Ahrend, Humanscale, Shaw Contract, Wilkhahn, Novo Work style  and dirk wynants design works.

Alongside the international design brands were 70 of China’s top design brands and independent designers, presenting across all five design halls and demonstrating the thriving vitality of new Chinese design. 2018 saw exhibitors including Domus Tiandi, Taiping Carpet, Stellar Works, YANG House, Wow Design, X+Q, Frank Chou Design Studio, ZAOZUO, Endless Form, Maxmarko, ziinlife, WUU, Zens, Minimaist.

With the Collectible Design Hall, where some of the world’s most celebrated galleries and brands exhibit one-off and limited-edition design pieces, Design Shanghai has created the perfect location for local and international design influencers to connect. At this year’s show, the prestigious Zaha Hadid Design brought the iconic Tau Vasa collection and Quad Table collection; Swarovski launched the Luminous Reflections collection by Tord Boontje in Asia; French luxury design brand Baccarat displayed masterpiece Medicis XXL in Asia for the first time; Gallery All showcased the MAD Martian Works collection by famous architect Yansong Ma; UK’s high-end handmade wallpaper brand De Gournay invited Portuguese design duo Oitoemponto to design its stand; ACAF exclusively presented the Orzone Vase by British designer Michael Young; Brand van Egmond also launched its 2018 new collection Ersa, Kelp Fortuna, Shiro and Edison’s Tail at show; the luxury silver homeware brand Christofle invited artists LI Wei, Mao Mao and Belgian chocolate Pierre Marcolini to celebrate the unique art of living; Pearl Lam Design created an exclusive platform to promote the dynamic cultural exchanges between the East and West via limited edition pieces; Portuguese gallery DRAMA presented its Utopia Collection which is full of imagination.
