MIRAGE STOOLS
The design inspiration for this product comes from the astronomical phenomenon of "Solar Halo" - a celestial mirage formed by light refraction. Using ceramic as the medium, the design aims to break away from the traditional symmetrical and regular forms of ceramics. Through organic distortion of the shape and subtle gradation of light and shadow, it simulates the meandering path of light refraction in the atmosphere, thereby replicating the visual image of the "Solar Halo". This is not only a reproduction of a natural phenomenon but also a dissolution of the "fixed form". The hard ceramic here presents an illusion of softness and fluidity like a halo, as if the dynamic and mysterious nature of optical phenomena, which changes in an instant, is solidified in the object.
At the same time, while taking into account the practical attributes of daily-use ceramics, the work also integrates the poetic aesthetics of celestial colors into daily life. In terms of color, the design extracts fragments of the light spectrum during the occurrence of the halo: the warmth of the sunset glow, the coldness of the aurora's blue and green, and the serenity of the deep universe. Through the layering and blending of glazes, a rich color gradient is constructed on the surface of the object, as if the seven-color halo refracted in the atmosphere is condensed on the object. This allows users to experience the harmonious coexistence of cosmic light and shadow and the warmth of handcrafting with every touch and use.
