The "Neo-Antique" series emerges from designer Shen Baohong’s reinterpretation of past works and emotional memories. The "Neo-Antique Single Sofa" takes inspiration from the spring sofas prevalent in the 1970s and 1980s, reimagined through a contemporary lens. Its grand frame houses plush upholstery with optimal rebound and enveloping comfort, wrapped in supple oil-waxed leather. The surface subtly incorporates Xiangyun gauze—a traditional Chinese silk fabric—like a textile patchwork in fashion design, infusing the western-originated modern furniture with an oriental nostalgic aura. The essence of the Neo-Antique series lies not in refurbishing the old, but in bridging the past and present through the designer’s vision. By balancing vintage aesthetics with modern functionality, the series creates a dialogue between eras—where the structured spring framework echoes mid-century craftsmanship, and the Xiangyun gauze detailing adds a poetic touch of oriental heritage. This design philosophy proves that true innovation lies not in abandonment, but in reinterpreting legacy to shape timeless pieces that resonate with both historical memory and contemporary life.
