China Chair is derived from the concept of “dismantling” the Western modernist approach of starting from function, and is a subversion of people’s existing conceptual cognition. It reflects the characteristics of this era - “an era of constant reconstruction”. Design is born from “dismantling”, dismantling the modernist functional proposition, endowing it with a new conceptual proposition, exposing the structure, which is both a challenge to aesthetics and the result of aesthetics itself. Shaped like a sculpture, seemingly complex, but extremely light, extremely many is also extremely few, dismantling is also reconstruction.
