Circular Economy in the Era of Existing Assets: Rethinking of China's 20 Years of Circular Economy Development

From the three dimensions of "why, what, and how," Prof Zhu explains that the circular economy will play a greater role in China's development in the era of existing assets, and will generate three important transformations. First, it will shift from an auxiliary vehicle for economic development to a leading one; second, it will shift from the traditional environmental 3R principle – Reduce, Re-Use, Recycle - to three cycles of materials, goods, and services with economic value; and third, it will shift from reactive measures to proactive, source-oriented design.
