Design in the City

First launched in 2020, Design in the City has become a signature event within Shanghai’s design landscape, dedicated to uncovering and showcasing the city’s most creative and thoughtfully designed spaces. In 2025, Design Shanghai once again collaborated with leading brands and design communities to deliver an even more powerful experience, establishing Shanghai as a vibrant, immersive hub for creativity and innovation.

The 2025 edition deepened the connection between design and the city, highlighting seven main categories — Art, Fashion, Lifestyle, Restaurants, Coffee & Tea, Nightlife, and Hotels — along with select featured destinations. Together, they offered a dynamic and inspiring portrait of Shanghai’s evolving design culture.
