With a history spanning 95 years, the POLA ORBIS Group is dedicated to its philosophy of "Sensitize the world to beauty." Rooted in cutting-edge science and a profound understanding of culture and art, the group aims to present new values to society through cosmetics and services. Launched in 2018 under the supervision of Mr. Masataka Hosoo from Hosoo Corporation, a renowned textile company in Nishijin, Kyoto, the "Woven Beauty" project has been gathering and deepening knowledge about beauty. This ranges from traditional Japanese craftsmanship to global trends and concepts. We have explored the marvels of "beauty" within the context of Chinese culture, which has significantly influenced Japan. Collaborating with Chinese designers and traditional Japanese craftsmen, we have created symbolic works that reflect the shared aesthetic sensibilities of both countries, contemplating "beauty for the future." Our exhibition also includes lectures that detail the research process and its findings.
